Faith Groundbreaking - April 22, 2009
April 26, 2009
Approximately 300 attended the Dedication and Ground Breaking Ceremony for the new Faith Lutheran church building on Wednesday, Aprill 22, 2009. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon as members of the church and community gathered to celebrate this event.
The celebration started with dinner and many outside activities:
- Shovel Check provided for those that brought their own shovels
- Decorating Hard Hats - Markers and stickers were available to make personalized hats.
- Photos as Construction workers (face cutouts) - Pictures taken.
- Buried Treasures - Kids shoveled in the huge sandpiles to find the buried treasures. There were two gold coins buried and the finders were the children representatives during the groundbreaking ceremony.
- Prayer Rocks - Rocks were decorated and included Faith members names on them. They were then placed on a large cross which will be buried during construction.
- Construction Equipment - Hjerpe Contracting brought several construction vehicles to Faith’s parking lot for the kids to climb on.
- Scroll Signing - The scroll will be placed in the time capsule.

New Hope Mission Society Update
November 1, 2008
A Debt Worthy of Retiring: You Are Invited to Help The New Hope Mission Society and its major partner, Faith Lutheran Church, to join with other supporting congregations and individuals to come to the aid of our ministry to the Muslims in India led by Rev. K.K. Alavi. The Bisharah Center has been renovated and made ready for expanding this evangelical ministry. With this work completed, the center will be a haven for those exploring the Christian faith, giving them a safe place to come and grow in their beginning relationship with Jesus Christ. It will offer a wonderful place of hospitality for those in India and for those coming there from far away places, like here. It will also foster developing ministries of caring to the community in which it is located.
The critical need, however, is that a major loan of approximately $83,000 has a balloon payment due before year’s end. Currently interest on this debt is $750.00 per month. By eliminating this debt, or greatly reducing it, this vital ministry will become much more effective and be an even better steward of our ongoing support.
If you can help with this effort, you are asked to give whatever you can well before year’s end so that our collective efforts can be sent in time to retire, or greatly reduce, this indebtedness. Make any checks payable to “New Hope Mission Society” and send or return them to the church office. Working with our other partners, we can do what needs to be done.
We are looking forward to a visit from Rev. K.K. Alavi later this fall to give us, and others, an update on the ministry he leads on our behalf.

Upcoming Lay Course

Is God Real? How Modern Theology Undermines the Christian Faith:
Astonishingly, many Lutheran and other Christian theologians today believe that God exists only as a human concept. They maintain that God has no reality apart from human awareness, perception and language about Him, and you may be surprised to find how easy it is for them to make that argument! However, these claims have a profound effect on our most basic Christian beliefs and understanding. Find out how much is at stake in what may sound like an obvious question—”Is God real?”
ILT Lay Course, Sunday mornings November 30, December 7, 14 and 21 at 9:45 a.m. led by Dr. Dennis Bielfeldt. This course will be held during the Our next Missions in Action (MIA) adult forum time at Faith Lutheran.
