Sewing and Quilting group
Sewing & Quilting Group - The Faith Women’s Sewing Group meets at 9:00 a.m.
the first Wednesday of each month to make quilts. All of the pieced quilt tops are
prepared in the homes of various members. At the meeting, we assemble the quilt
tops with linings and backings, tie it together with yarn, and pin and machine sew the
edgings. The quilts are donated to Lutheran World Relief, where they are sent to
the needy and to victims of natural disasters all over the world. Larger quilts are made and used for gifts, fundraisers, and for victims of local disasters. Once a year,
the group makes an extra special quilt, which is hand quilted and sold at the Green
Lake Bible Camp Auction. At lunch time, we enjoy a potluck meal. No prior sewing
knowledge is required.
