A big thanks to all who turned in a pledge card for Legacy of Faith… Moving Forward and to all the visitors to the congregation. It will take some time to tally the response, but many cards have already been received. If you haven’t yet returned your card, please do so by February 15. It is a great help to return your card even if you are not able to make a gift, so we do not try to contact you again. Visitors, please turn in your envelopes and status sheets as soon as possible. Thank you!
Mission for a New Millennium
A new Adult Forum series begins this Sunday, February 5, at 9:15 a.m. in the Faith Center. Join us as we discuss the new context that has accompanied our the modern Christian landscape, and how Faith Lutheran is called to serve others for Jesus’ sake. We’ve got some special speakers lined up for this month — read more about Mission for a New Millennium.
Fish Fry
The 19th Annual Fish Fry is only a week away, and we’re all getting hungry! Join us on Friday, February 10 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (or until the fish runs out). The menu includes Alaskan Pollock, Cole Slaw, Homestyle Baked Beans, Potato Salad and a beverage. Prices: $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $6 for children ages 6-12 and no charge for children 5 and under. All carry-outs and call-ins are available for $10. Evening deliveries will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. (call 587-2093 to place an order). Proceeds will help in supporting Green Lake Bible Camp and other Faith Lutheran Church ministries.
Wine Tasting
Join the Empty Nesters for an afternoon of wine tasting and fellowship on Sunday, February 12 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Crow River Winery on Hwy 7 East in Hutchinson. Cost is $5 per person to sample five different wines. Brief, guided tours are available at 4 p.m. and at 5 p.m. This is a great opportunity to see Hutchinson’s new winery if you haven’t yet!
The Empty Nesters will be providing snacks. You are welcome to come and go as you wish. Feel free to bring friends or guests! Everyone age 21 to 121 is welcome!
Befriender Meeting
The next Befriender meeting will be held Monday, February 6 at 1 p.m. Please let Marsha (320-234-8400) know if you’re unable to attend.
Dream On
Andrea Wollan and Penny Stuber are planning a trip to Omaha, Nebraska, this April for Dream On: an inspirational and faith-based event for middle school girls. Anyone interested should attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, February 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Faith Center.
Book Club
The next Book Club meeting is Monday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Luther Lounge (adjacent to the North gathering area). The current book is My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult. Call Marsha at 234-8400 with questions or interest. All are welcome to join in the discussion!
Faith Lutheran Church Women
The FLCW Rummage Sale will be April 26-28. Start collecting your items and bring them to the church the week of April 23. Items include clothes, furniture, toys and household goods. No large appliances, large exercise equipment, computers or TVs please. Sign up sheets to help are in the gathering area.
Chime Choir
The Joyful Noise Chime Choir is Wednesdays at 5:15 p.m. in the choir room. This choir is geared for school-aged beginners and families. Call Sue Graff at 587-6289 or email kssgraff@hutchtel.net for more information.
Zumba®
Women who are interested in some fun dance exercise should attend the Zumba® dance class at 7 p.m. on Thursday nights at Faith Lutheran. The cost is $1 per class. If you’re curious about what Zumba® is and would like more information, contact the church office at 587-2093 and ask for Kacie or Julie.
Pancake Dinner
The Men’s Club of First Evangelical Lutheran in Glencoe will host a Pancake Dinner on Sunday, February 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the church fellowship center. More information is located on the bulletin board outside the Faith Lutheran office.

A way to share your time, talents and gifts at Faith:
Wanted: a preschool music leader for Sunday School. No instrument is required.
Also: A voluntteer is wanted to drop off bulletins at the Oaks and the Pines on Fridays.

Did You Know…
Parents are the primary teachers of Faith to their kids. Did you know the church is here to help? Introducing Faith @ Home: a monthly class/discussion/support group for parents centered on topics of teaching the faith. W will meet with coffee and treats in the entrance area under door 1 at 9:15 a.m. beginning Sunday, February 5. The first topic is hot to talk to your kids about God.
