As explained in the announcements during worship this Sunday, the term 3-PEAT comes from the Los Angeles Lakers’s attempt at a 3rd consecutive NBA Championship in 1989… the Lakers didn’t achieve their goal, but in 1993 the Chicago Bulls did, having won 3-straight titles.
Now Faith Lutheran has a chance for a 3-PEAT. 3-PEAT is an encouragement for strong year-end giving in 2011 to ensure that borrowing is not needed. If we meet our goal, this will be the 3rd year in a row without year-end borrowing. In order achieve our 3rd year of no borrowing, it is estimated that $160,000 in offerings are needed during the months of November and December to meet expenses. Historically, $148,000 has been given in those two months.
Every member of Faith is asked to do the following:
Pray
Evaluate your 2011 giving to this point;
Assess how God has blessed you to be a blessing; and
Thankfully give as generously as you can.

Could you give an extra month’s offering . . . adding a 13th month to your giving year? Here are ways for you to give your 3-PEAT gift:
- Extra Envelope
- One-time Simply Giving gift (forms available in the church office or online).
- Increase your weekly or monthly regular offering
Additional gifts are needed in all levels of giving:
$50 gifts; $100 gifts; $250 gifts; $500 gifts; $1,000 gifts
As we give generously according to how God has blessed each one of us, Faith Lutheran together can continue the marked improvement in our financial stewardship and achieve our own version of a 3-PEAT.
Will you join us in this challenge?
