Crossways Bible Study (Only during the school year)
Crossways is a “big picture” study of the whole Bible. It gives an overview of each book within a framework for seeing the Bible’s “big story.” It combines Bible reading, commentary, and illustrations to show how the Bible fits together. If you want to know your Bible better, Crossways is for you! Sign up for the new class at church or talk to Pastor Scott.
Crossways classes meet for 20 weeks per year for three years.
Year 1—The NEW class will begin on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Faith Center.
Year 2 class will resume on Monday, September 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Faith Center.
Year 3 class will not be held this year.
Here is what some past and current Crossways participants say about the course:
“Replace your confusion with clarity as Pastor Scott takes you on an eye-opening journey through Crossways and the history surrounding the events of the Bible.” – Shawn Anderson
Year one of Crossways left me eager for year two and three… Find out what you don’t know about the Judges, Kings and biblical figures we thought we knew.” – Gail Telecky
“I am so glad I listened to others’ recommendations about Crossways! I have truly loved digging deeper for a better understanding and grasp of the Bible. So many ‘So that’s why’ and ‘Now I get it’ moments.” – Mary Hodson
“I had never been in a study before. It was way more than I expected!! I told my friends how excited I was and four of them joined in year two. They also agree it is awesome!” – Barb Anderson
Bible Study (Only during the school year) | Monday 10:30 a.m.
A Bible Study series offered September – May, Monday mornings, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. All are welcome. Coffee provided (sometimes treats, too!)
The Story of Israel’s Origins begins September 9.
The Story of Israel’s Origins, a study of the book of Exodus, will build on last year’s study of Genesis. The Origins Story, as Exodus relates how God’s saving will led to forming the people of Israel into a nation, a divine process which foreshadowed the Gospel in intriguing ways.
Anyone is welcome to attend and no registration is necessary. Just bring a Bible and a pen or pencil. To learn more about this study, contact Pastor Scott.
Faith Group Studies (Spring and Fall)
Twice a year Faith offers Faith Group Studies. These are 6-7 week long studies that have small groups meeting to watch a video and participate in a discussion time. There are groups meeting on a variety of days and times as well as locations. One option is a large group that meets at church on Tuesday nights. They start with dinner together, child care is available. After eating they watch the video as a large group and then split into smaller groups for the discussion time.
Faith Groups are a great way to connect with others about faith in a short-term small group experience. This fall’s Faith Group series is “By What Authority?” as we explore how we read and interpret the Bible, and apply that knowledge to a few current topics in the church. Faith Groups will watch a recorded teaching by Pastor Scott or Pastor Dave, and then discuss the lesson with small group questions. Our fall series begins September 22, and there are groups that meet on different days at different times throughout the week, or you can form your own! Talk to Marsha to plug into a Faith Group!
