Sounds of cleaning always fill the Faith Lutheran office hallways on Thursday mornings. Sometime after 8 a.m. (they say they meet at 9, but who are they kidding?) the Spit ‘n Shine team appears each week to keep our church clean. Vacuuming. Dusting. Washing windows. Replacing paper towels. Taking out the trash. Cleaning bathrooms. This place just wouldn’t be clean without their dedicated work.
The vroom of the vacuums and the squirt of the spray bottles can’t drown the sounds of friendly chatter. Sometimes there are so many people around — talking and laughing — it’s hard to stick with just one conversation. The Spit & Shine group top off each Thursday morning cleaning session with coffee and treats in the Conference Room.
This fellowship endeavor is just one example of a purposeful and fulfilling ministry offered (and heavily organized by members) at Faith Lutheran.
