For many of us, Thanksgiving dinner generates images of golden-brown turkey, stuffing made using grandma’s old recipe, homemade pumpkin and apple pie, and cranberries — both from the can and homemade. While we’re thankful to have such a warm, lovingly-prepared meal to share with family and close friends each year, we cannot forget about the families in McLeod County who cannot count on a Thanksgiving meal without the generosity of their neighbors. That’s why the Congregational Life Ministry team is again challenging the members of Faith Lutheran Church to fill the boat!
Beginning this Sunday, and through November, the boat is back! An empty boat will be placed in the east entryway of Faith Lutheran. We invite everyone to bring in non-perishable Thanksgiving food items to fill the boat. Donations will be distributed to area families in need for their Thanksgiving meal. The food will be delivered before Thanksgiving.
Look for the boat and please share what you can to grant a Thanksgiving blessing to local families.
