The call committee has delved right into its important work of discerning how best to staff Faith Lutheran after Pastor Randy’s departure. The group has:
- met several times together to define the scope and procedure of its work;
- received written reflections from all current staff members and held individual conversations with each of them;
- held two “Listening Sessions” for the congregation to provide an update on its work and to receive insight from Faith’s members;
- sketched out a preliminary schedule for completing its work as soon as it feasibly can.
Whatever proposals the call committee finally makes—especially about calling a new pastor—must then be approved or declined by the congregation at a special meeting called for that purpose. Faith’s constitution reads, “Authority to call a pastor shall reside in this church by at least a two-thirds majority of members present and voting at a congregational meeting regularly called for that purpose.” (C8.01.) When that time comes, please join in making this important decision for Faith Lutheran and the ministry God has entrusted to us.
